Question: Anybody else have anaphylactic reactions to allergy shots?

( Back )

Answer #1:

My daughters both got them for several years, and I suspect they had some asthma and sinus drainage. 3 years after they stopped, one daughter would still get a red, swollen hive with a large red area around it. It looked like a huge mosquito bite, and it was sensitive.

Answer #2:

I don't know how bad your allergies are or what you're allergic (so if it would be worth sticking with the treatment) and can't exactly answer your question but... I just wanted to point out that...

Surely it's better to be having the reaction in a safe place where they are able to resucitate you compared to accidentally coming into contact with it when you're somewhere random? There is a lot less chance of a recovery. Maybe if you are going to have a reaction you should stick with it.
Then again if you are allergic to something like cucumber then it's pretty pointless to be putting yourself through this when the risk of the treatment is more than the chance of dying from an allergic reaction . Your doctor is supposed to advise you on things like this. They are the experts.
