Question #5:

Your favourite baby food recipes?

I love making my daughter's baby food but am getting stuck with recipe ideas

This is one of my daughters favourites - she loves it and always eats the whole portion :)

30g butter
1 leek - sliced
1 celery stick - sliced
1 red pepper -cored, deseeded and chopped
60g Red Lentils
1 medium carrot - peeled and chopped
2 sweet potatoes, peeled and chopped
1 bay leaf
15 fl oz veg stock or boiled water

Sauté leaks in butter for 2-3 minutes, add celery, red pepper, carrot and sauté for 5 minutes
add lentils and sauté for 1 minute. Add sweet pot, bay leaf and stock, bring to boil, reduce heat cover and simmer for 30 minutes/until veg and lentils ore tender. Remove bay leaf, puree/mash to required texture. Freezes well so worth making a batch.

Do you have any good recipe ideas to try?

Question #8:

Where can I get a duck I want to make this recipe?

Duck Blood Soup (Czarnina)

"This is an old Polish recipe that was used at Easter time. This recipe is traditionally served with home made noodles. If desired the fruit can be removed, leaving broth to serve with noodle. If you do not know where to purchase a duck, contact a local farmer or butcher. If you prepare your own poultry be sure to add 1/2 cup vinegar to duck blood to prevent coagulation." Original recipe yield: 12 servings.

INGREDIENTS: 1 (4 pound) wild duck, whole
4 cups duck blood
8 cups water
1 teaspoon salt
1 stalk celery, cut into 2 inch pieces
1 sprig chopped fresh parsley
1 cup heavy cream
5 whole allspice berries
2 whole cloves
16 ounces pitted prunes
1/2 cup raisins
1 tart apple - peeled, cored and chopped
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon white sugar
salt and pepper to taste
1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice

DIRECTIONS: Cover whole duck with water in large stock pot. Add salt, and bring to a boil. Skim off foam. Place celery, parsley, allspice, and cloves in a cheese cloth bag, and add to stock pot. Cover and cook over low heat until meat is tender, approximately 1 1/2 hours. Remove cheese cloth bag from stock pot. Remove duck. Discard bones, cut up meat, and return to the broth. Mix in prunes, raisins and apple. Simmer for 30 minutes. In a medium bowl, beat flour and sugar into cream until smooth. Beat in duck blood gradually. Add 1/2 cup hot soup stock to blood mixture, blending thoroughly. Pour mixture slowly back into stock pot, stirring constantly until soup comes to a boil. Season to taste with salt, pepper, lemon juice and vinegar.
Seriously how/where do I get a duck?

Question #10:

character name opinions please and thank you :)?

I'm writing a book and would like some opinions on what to name a character. Here is a description:
Looks~
Tall, thin-ish (strong but not all brawny), dark/black hair, spring-green/celery eyes, either looks indifferent or has a goofy smile tugging on the corners of his lips.
Personality~
Incredibly clever and very funny, but very quiet and a little shy. He can act like he doesn't know whats going on, but it's only because he wants more information and details to add to what he already knows. Transfers into a private high school in the middle of the second semester and instantly becomes popular.
He's seventeen and an extremely mysterious character.

At the end of te book he finally exposes his name after living with a nickname. It has GOT to begin with E.

I was thinking maybe Elijah?
Please no Evan, Ethan or Eric.
Nothing to foreign or exotic please. Just plain and simple :)

thanks!!

Question #11:

I have boneless, skinless chicken breast, onions, carrots, celery, potoatoes, etc, I was thinking some sort of stew or something? Or if you just have a quick recipe, that'd be great! thanks!

Question #17:

Is it normal to feel tired when you change to a healthy diet?

I haven't been eating as well as I used to for at least a year & after getting engaged decided to get back on the health wagon & lose some weight.

The bad foods I indulged in were never fast food or highly processed food. Mostly rich french casseroles, good sourdough & homemade buttery baked goods.

I have only been back on track for 5 days but I have been extremely lethargic. I wake up at 6:30 I work in an office for 8 hours, do 30 mins to 1 hour at the gym 4-5 days a week & I am often falling asleep sitting up on the sofa by 7pm!

I am sure I am getting enough calories & by all rights I should be exploding with energy given I am eating so many organic green leafy veg & fresh fruit.

Could it just be my body adjusting to a new diet?

Eg of my diet
(what I ate yesterday)

Breakfast:
3/4 cup Quinoa & oat Porridge with 1 diced apple, 3 chopped raw almonds & skim milk

Snack:
a couple of pieces of celery

Lunch: chicken salad consisting of 150g grilled chicken breast, 1.5 c arugula, 1/2 c fresh raw corn kernels, 1/2 c cherry tomatoes, sliced Spanish onion. 1 tbsp olive oil, lemon & anchovy dressing

snack: homemade granola bite snack (made with oats, pepitas, puffed rice, dried blueberries, nut butter, agave syrup & an egg white)

Dinner: Broccoli & lentil soup with chia seeds (I usually go back for seconds & eat quite a lot of this)

I am also not consuming alcohol, tea or coffee. Nothing but 2-3 litres of water a day.

What do you think? Not enough calories or just adjusting?
I didn't have a lot of caffine previously. Maybe 1 coffee a week & a cup of tea with milk & sugar.

I cut out the tea only because of the sugar & milk. I can't stand to drink it black.

Question #18:

Question #19:

I love knives especially butcher knives and i always use bigger knives than necessary like when i peel grapes (yes i peel my grapes got a problem with that?) i use a knife that you'd normally cut something like i don't know celery with. i also dream of killing all my friends and family by chopping them up
so am i insane?

Question #20:

Do you have recipes that use cream of various types of soup?

I am reorganizing the cupboard and realized I have a surplus of cream of mushroom, celery, onion, and chicken soups. I mainly use them for dressing/stuffing and green bean casserole during the holidays. I’m not sure what happened last Thanksgiving and Christmas, but I did have a lot of family visiting and multiple people picking up groceries so things must have gotten out of hand with the soup.

Occasionally, I use them as a gravy additive or in a stew, but to be honest I don’t have any standard recipes that require them except for the holiday things. Anyone have any recipes that can help me use what appears to be 3 years worth of soup at the current rate I’m using it? Many thanks!
